That song! That terrifyingly ghoulish tune! Is it coming from the cobwebbed organ of a haunted mansion?
No indeed—it’s coming from adorable otters at the National Zoo! The critters get access to a keyboard about twice a month, and for some reason, grave musical stylings akin to Bach seem to strike their fancy.
Zoo officials say playing music “helps the animals to work on their sight, touch and hearing.” And their spooking, apparently. But they’re the cutest spooks you ever did see. (Yes they are! Yes they are!)
